Amanda Jeffres, RN | Executive Director / Public Health Nurse
Amanda Jeffres earned her college education at Midland University in Fremont, graduating in 2007 with her Bachelor's of Science in Nursing. She started at Loup Basin Public Health Department in September 2013 as the coordinator for the influenza vaccination program. Throughout her years working as a public health nurse with the department she started the childhood and adult immunization program and served as the coordinator for the on-site wellness screenings offered to area schools and businesses.
In 2010, Amanda took classes to become a Certified Child Passenger Safety technician. She continues to utilize this certification in her public health role to help protect the children who are being transported within our area through inspection events and offering education to individuals who have questions regarding the proper installation of a child passenger safety seat.
Amanda moved into the Assistant Director role for Loup Basin Public Health Department in January 2018, At the November 2020 meeting of the Board of Health voted to name Amanda the Co-Director. Upon the retirement of founding director, Charles Cone, in April 2021, the Board of Health named Amanda the sole Executive Director.

Danielle Thoene | Program Manager / Financial Services Coordinator
Danielle Thoene started at the health department in the fall of 2006 as an intern from the University of Nebraska at Kearney. While working part time she was able to work in multiple areas of the health department including emergency preparedness and health education. After completing her Bachelor of Science degree in May 2009, Danielle was offered a full time position.
Danielle has worked as the Administrative Assistant, Emergency Response Coordinator and is currently the Program Manager for the LB Smiles program as well as the Financial Coordinator in charge of billing.

Stephanie Gideon | Accounting / Accreditation Coordinator
Stephanie started at the Health Department in November 2014. She attended Central Community College in Hastings and began working as the administrative assistant at Loup Basin Public Health Department when first hired. In the spring of 2015, she took over the accounting duties for the Health Department.
Stephanie is responsible for accounting duties at LBPHD, monthly and annual reporting, assisting with Well @ Work, Smiles, and immunization programs, and she also is the Accreditation Coordinator.

Terry Stutzman | Administrative Assistant
Terry began working at Loup Basin Public Health Department in July 2015. She graduated from the University of Nebraska - Lincoln with a Bachelor's of Science in Education. In addition to her Administrative Assistant responsibilities, Terry also assists with Community Hub as a Community Health Worker.

Lesa Gideon, RN | Public Health Nurse
Lesa started at Loup Basin Public Health Department in August of 2015. Lesa graduated from the University of Nebraska Medical Center in 1996 with her Bachelors of Science in Nursing degree. As a public health nurse, Lesa’s primary responsibility will be the Well @ Work program.

Ashley Jeffres, LPN | Diabetes Prevention Program Coordinator
Ashley graduated from Central Community College with her LPN in 2006. In May of 2016, she accepted a position with the Loup Basin Public Health Department as the Emergency Response Coordinator. Ashley fulfilled this role for almost two years and in May, 2018 moved into a role of a health educator.
Ashley's duties as the health educator include establishing the Health Department's Diabetes Prevention Program and becoming a CPR instructor.

Catie Larsen | Emergency Response Coordinator
Catie attended Wayne State College in Wayne, Nebraska and graduated in 2009 with her Bachelors of Science in Exercise Science. In April 2018, she accepted the Emergency Response Coordinator position with the Health Department.
Catie will be responsible for coordinating the activities of the area's emergency response plans.

In April 2020, Holly accepted a position with Loup Basin Public Health Department as the coordinator of the Immunization Program.

In August 2020, Val accepted a position with Loup Basin Public Health Department as a Public Health Case Investigator to assist the local health department with COVID-19 response.

Jolene Gydesen | Communications Specialist
In August 2020, Jolene accepted a position with Loup Basin Public Health Department as a Public Health Case Investigator to assist the local health department with COVID-19 response. In June 2021 she took on a new role as the communications specialist.

Shelby Galvan | Health Educator
Shelby Galvan started at the Loup Basin Health Department in June 2021. Shelby graduated from the University of Nebraska at Kearney in 2018 with her Bachelors in Business Administration with and emphasis in Management. Shelby will be our Community Health Worker, where she will be responsible for the LB Smiles Program and Immunization Grants.

Kalie Cassidy graduated from the University of Nebraska Medical Center in 2017 with her Bachelors of Science in Nursing degree. Kalie will be responsible for LBPHD's Opioid Program.

Claire Snyder, RDH | Public Health Dental Hygienist
Claire graduated from Central Community College in Hastings with an Associates of Applied Science in Dental Hygiene. She started at LBPHD in January 2022. Claire will be involved with the LB Smiles program at the health department.
