Charles "Chuck" Cone | Co-Director
Chuck Cone is the Director of the Loup Basin Public Health Department. He graduated from the University of Nebraska with a BS in Food Science. Chuck has been with the Health Department since 2002.
Chuck has been responsible for building the health department from the ground up. He selected the location of LBPHD, developed infrastructure and hired staff. Chuck oversees the financial and budget concerns and organizes the Board of Health meetings. He is also responsible for determining the capacity of the health department to fulfill the ten essential services within the district's public health system.

Amanda Jeffres, RN | Co-Director / Public Health Nurse

Amanda Jeffres has been one of our public health nurses since September 2013. She earned her college education at Midland University in Fremont, graduating in 2007 with her Bachelors of Science in Nursing degree. As a public health nurse with our agency, Amanda’s primary responsibility is our immunization programs. She also works on the team that is preparing LBPHD for accreditation.
In 2010, Amanda took classes to become a Certified Child Passenger Safety technician. She continues to utilize this certification in her public health role to help protect the children who are being transported within our area through inspection events and offering child transportation classes to day cares providers and pre-schools who transport children.

Danielle Thoene | Program Manager / Financial Services Coordinator

Danielle Thoene started at the health department in the fall of 2006 as an intern from the University of Nebraska at Kearney. While working part time she was able to work in multiple areas of the health department including emergency preparedness and health education. After completing her Bachelor of Science degree in May 2009, Danielle was offered a full time position.
Danielle has worked as the Administrative Assistant, Emergency Response Coordinator and is currently the Program Manager for the LB Smiles program as well as the Financial Coordinator in charge of billing.

Stephanie Gideon | Accounting / Accreditation Coordinator
Stephanie started at the Health Department in November 2014. She attended Central Community College in Hastings and began working as the administrative assistant at Loup Basin Public Health Department when first hired. In the spring of 2015, she took over the accounting duties for the Health Department.
Stephanie is responsible for accounting duties at LBPHD, monthly and annual reporting, assisting with Well @ Work, Smiles, and immunization programs, and she also is the Accreditation Coordinator.

Terry Stutzman | Administrative Assistant
Terry began working at Loup Basin Public Health Department in July 2015. She graduated from the University of Nebraska - Lincoln with a Bachelor's of Science in Education. In addition to her Administrative Assistant responsibilities, Terry also assists with Community Hub as a Community Health Worker.

Lesa Gideon, RN | Public Health Nurse

Lesa started at Loup Basin Public Health Department in August of 2015. Lesa graduated from the University of Nebraska Medical Center in 1996 with her Bachelors of Science in Nursing degree. As a public health nurse, Lesa’s primary responsibility will be the Well @ Work program.

Ashley Jeffres, LPN | Diabetes Prevention Program Coordinator

Ashley graduated from Central Community College with her LPN in 2006. In May of 2016, she accepted a position with the Loup Basin Public Health Department as the Emergency Response Coordinator. Ashley fulfilled this role for almost two years and in May, 2018 moved into a role of a health educator.
Ashley's duties as the health educator include establishing the Health Department's Diabetes Prevention Program and becoming a CPR instructor.

Catie Larsen | Emergency Response Coordinator
Catie attended Wayne State College in Wayne, Nebraska and graduated in 2009 with her Bachelors of Science in Exercise Science. In April 2018, she accepted the Emergency Response Coordinator position with the Health Department.
Catie will be responsible for coordinating the activities of the area's emergency response plans.
